6.12.21 Police Visit
Today Police Officer Logan came to visit us and brought her Police van for us to look at. We managed to fit 15 children in the van altogether. Afterwards she showed us all the equipment she has to wear on her uniform.

This week is Road Safety Week and the Junior Road Safety Officers came to talk to us about being safe when crossing the road. We then went to visit our Lollipop Crossing Patrol to practice crossing the road sensibly.
We had a visit from the Coastguard to show us all their equipment they use to help rescue people. We used our strong muscles to have a go with the ropes. It was exciting see all the special equipment they have in their van.
Today the Fire Crew came to ELC to show us how to be safe when near Bonfires and Fireworks. We learnt how to Stop, Drop, Cover Face and Roll if our clothes catch fire.
This week in nursery we have been enjoying some spooky Halloween sensory fun. We had gooey jelly in the water tray, spooky lentils to mix and pour. We carved our own pumpkins using our fine motor skills to scoop out the seeds.
We had fun dressing up in our spooky Halloween costumes today. We carved pumpkins, played party games and dooked for apples for snack.
We had a brilliant visit from the fire crew today to tell us about their very important job keeping us safe. We had great fun looking at the equipment and having a turn of the water hose.
We helped make our own pancakes for snack today. We had to weigh and mix the ingredients before waiting patiently for the pancakes to cook. They were yummy!
We made spooky spaghetti today using food colouring and cooked spaghetti. We took the spaghetti outside to the tuff tray and used tweezers to move it about to find the creepy crawly bugs hidden inside.
Using our hand eye control we have been busy hammering nails and golf tees into different pumpkins to help strengthen our finger muscles.
After having corn on the cob yesterday, for snack today we made popcorn. We were very excited when it started to pop and come out our popcorn maker. We thought this was very funny and enjoyed watching the popcorn getting ready.
We have been preparing our own snacks this week. Using another root vegetable, today we peeled and chopped potatoes before cooking and mashing them. We enjoyed eating the mash potato with our corn on the cob.
